Team Building and Action Learning
With its ground and aerial roots, multiple trunks and interwoven branches, the banyan tree represents the strength inherent in unified diversity.
Welcome
Hello, I’m Leonore and for the past 31 years I’ve been passionately supporting community resilience and enhancing recognition of the positive social impact of community organisations. That’s led me to engage in roughly 20 projects (establishing, supporting, reviving or saving things like the park (highly recommended), community centres, schools, libraries, community housing options, public land and facilities, leadership courses, youth groups, cultural immersion programs, parent associations, eco-tourism businesses and personal development programs) including a host of community, local, regional, state, interstate or overseas forums, in both paid and unpaid conditions.
Three principles have stood me in good stead:
- Goodwill
- Integrity
- Fairplay
And a sprinkling of humour has often carried the day.

Along the way I’ve found that community workshops can be a means for transcending the official necessities of incorporated associations enabling people to creatively express themselves and appreciate the wealth of interests that others bring with them to collective enterprises.
I’m inviting you to work with someone who’s been around capacity building a while but is keeping up with trends (and maybe even still setting them) with organisations like yours.
About
There are millions of people out there just waiting to be welcomed to a community group or an organisation that operates in a caring, inclusive and equitable way. Unfortunately, clubs and incorporated associations tend to gradually stagnate over time.
There are currently so many recreational opportunities that special interest groups need to stand out and embrace change to attract new members or retain existing ones.
I see my role as facilitating your exploration, supporting you while you get your feet off the ground and, along the way, sharing the wisdom gleaned through community life experiences.
Services
Sometimes it’s better to tease out the differences and talk about things that seem unrelated at first to allow for rearranging ideas, developing new ones, or throwing the old ones out altogether.
Through a gradual release of responsibility process, Banyan Community Governance offers services such as:
INITIAL PRESENTATION
OBSERVATION & FEEDBACK
CONTENT SELECTION
WORKSHOP DESIGN
EXTENDED PROGRAM DESIGN
DESIGN YOUR OWN WORKSHOP
GOVERNANCE GUIDANCE
REFERRALS TO COMPLIANCE SPECIALISTS
In short, I’m here to support your inner and outer journey toward better outcomes for you, your organisation and its members.
Banyan Community Governance wishes to acknowledge the past, present and emerging traditional owners of the water and land on which it operates.
